Educational Scholarship

The St. Joseph County Farm Bureau Board of directors announced this scholarship in Connie Maystead’s memory, at their annual meeting in 2007.  Connie Maystead served as the administrative manager of the organization for over 25 years.  Applications are now available for the $1000 scholarship.  Eligibility requirements are listed below:

1.    Complete all sections of the application form.
2.    Attach a most recent transcript from the college you are currently enrolled.
3.    Mail completed application and transcript to:

1. The applicant or his/her parents/legal guardian must be a member of the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau and be involved in the production of agriculture. 2. The applicant must be a graduate accepted by or attending a post-secondary institution. Applicant must have completed at least one year of college in an ag-related study and will be continuing in that or any other agriculture related study. Priority will be given to Juniors & Seniors in College with sophomore alternate or 2nd year in 2-Year Ag Program. 3. Applicants may re-apply for this scholarship each year. 4. Student's grades and need for the scholarship are taken into consideration. 5. The St. Joseph County Farm Bureau Board of Directors will determine the recipient(s) of the scholarship(s). RESRICTIONS: 1. Scholarship to be used for tuition, fees and books and will be paid directly to the University or College. 2. If the recipient of the scholarship quit or drops out of school - the remainder of the scholarship is to be refunded to the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau. Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
